The 60-hour program includes a dissertation/capstone project focused on improving rural education.

With more than half of Oklahoma鈥檚 schools located in rural communities, this program helps educators address issues such as access to technology, educational resources, advanced coursework, and other factors that impact student success.

Program Specific Admission Requirements

Dissertation

This program includes an applied dissertation. The distinctive opportunities provided by an applied dissertation include working on issues, challenges, or problems in a local rural community to research possible solutions that can be put into place immediately. The applied focus of this program allows the students to research that has an immediate impact on day-to-day operations and activities in the rural community.

Practicum/Internship

The EdD does not require a practicum/internship.
