Wendell Godwin became East Central University鈥檚 10th president July 1, 2022, after a long career in the corporate world and more than a decade in academics, leading 成人B站鈥檚 Harland C. Stonecipher School of Business, its faculty, and its students, to levels of great achievement and national recognition.

Godwin earned his Executive MBA in 2005 from Southern Methodist University and his Business Administration degree in 1984 from 成人B站. He graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1980. In 2010, Godwin was named dean of the Stonecipher School of Business and worked to transform the culture of the school of business into one of excellence.

His vision for 成人B站 includes having the best facilities, opportunities, and experiences for students, faculty, and staff. Godwin, along with his executive team and the 成人B站 Foundation, launched an extremely successful capital campaign in 2025, which has surpassed initial expectations and led to increased goals. He was instrumental in making the construction of the new $41 million Dan Hays STEM Center, which features state-of-the-art educational technology and houses 成人B站鈥檚 College of Health and Sciences offices as well as the Mathematics and Computer Science Department and 成人B站鈥檚 Nursing School, a reality in less than two years from groundbreaking to grand opening. He encourages student leadership opportunities across campus, including personally overseeing the President鈥檚 Leadership Class.

Godwin is very active in the Ada community, serving on various committees.

Prior to the role of dean, Godwin worked in the corporate world for 26 years, leading in various capacities. He completed his sales career in 2009 as having the number one performing area in the company.
