Oklahoma Business Week, a one-of-a-kind, award-winning summer camp designed to expose high school students to the world of business, is set for June 5-9 at East Central University.
Camp participants, those who have completed grades 9-12, become part of a 鈥渃ompany鈥 and work together in various events and competitions. Meanwhile, they will have the opportunity to interact and learn from business leaders from across the nation.
Confirmed speakers for 2016 include: Alan Marcum, executive vice president of Devon Energy; Steve Hahn, president of AT&T Oklahoma and Rhett Laubach, author and founder of YourNextSpeaker.com.
Students will gain skills in leadership, communication, team building, responsibility, money management, entrepreneurship, marketing and more.
Participants will not only gain a valuable learning experience, but will have fun in the process and experience college life for a week. Students will live in the campus residential halls for a week and participate in a variety of activities on campus.
Additionally, participants will have a chance to win a scholarship or laptop computer.
The cost for the camp starts at $150 per participant, which includes housing and meals for the entire week. Oklahoma Business Week is valued at about $800 per student. However, due to generous supporters, most of the expenses are covered, which cuts the cost for students tremendously. Those submitting applications by March 3, will get the $150 rate.
Only 80 slots for student participants are available.
