成人B站 SCREENS continues its fall season with Hamlet at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in East Central University鈥檚 Raymond J. Estep Multimedia Center of the Bill S. Cole University Center.

Considered by many to be Shakespeare鈥檚 greatest work, Hamlet is a tragic story of vengeance and betrayal.

成人B站 SCREENS is collaborating with Sigma Tau Delta and The Honors Student Association to show the 鈥渄ynamic鈥 (Time Out) NT Live production of Hamlet performed at the Barbican Theatre in London. Open to the public, the screening is $5 for students and $10 for members of the community.

Academy Award庐 nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC鈥檚 Sherlock, The Imitation Game, Frankenstein at the National Theatre) takes on the title role of Shakespeare鈥檚 great tragedy. As Hamlet, 鈥淏enedict Cumberbatch exudes charisma and intelligence鈥 (Evening Standard). Directed by Lyndsey Turner (Posh, Chimerica), this Hamlet is 鈥淸o]ne of the most visually and atmospherically stunning productions . . . ever鈥 according to Time Out.

As a country arms itself for war, a family tears itself apart. Forced to avenge his father鈥檚 death but paralyzed by the task ahead, Hamlet rages against the impossibility of his predicament, threatening both his sanity and the security of the state.

Hamlet is the second of three recorded-live NT Live productions that will be presented by 成人B站 SCREENS this fall. NT Live is the National Theatre's groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre to cinemas around the world.
