As many as 50 companies and graduate schools will be on hand as East Central University hosts the Spring 2014 Career Expo on Tuesday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 成人B站 Foundation Hall of Chickasaw Business and Conference Center.

The expo is free and open to all 成人B站 students and alumni.

鈥淎ttending a job fair provides a great opportunity for you to present your talents and abilities to prospective employers in a personal and professional way,鈥 said Peggy Saunkeah, director of the 成人B站 Career Center and coordinator for the event. 鈥淚t may serve as a precursor to a profitable interview. For job seekers, it allows you to meet with employers that you may have not been able to have access to in any other way. It鈥檚 also a time to network, attend workshops and polish up your resume.鈥

Representatives from a wide range of companies from many career disciplines will be in attendance. Among those in attendance will be representatives from school districts in Oklahoma and Texas, seeking teachers; businesses seeking accounting, marketing, finance and project managers; agencies seeking science, environmental science and criminal justice students; media outlets seeking journalists, photographers and newscasters; and information technology representatives.

鈥淓ducation, healthcare and human resources, including law enforcement, are three of the biggest areas that will be represented,鈥 Saunkeah said.

Many Ada area businesses and companies will be represented.

鈥淲e鈥檝e got some wonderful employers who are willing to compete with larger metropolitan areas for our students,鈥 said Saunkeah.

Freshmen, all the way up to seniors, are encouraged to attend, with the possibility of landing part time summer jobs or even internships.

鈥淎nymore it鈥檚 not just what you do in the classroom. Most employers are after interns who can gain valuable on-the-job experience,鈥 Saunkeah said.
