ADA 鈥 An East Central University alumnus is returning to campus virtually to share her loves of photography, nature and the alphabet with youngsters.

Janis Blevins, a 1969 成人B站 graduate, will share her exhibit 鈥淟etters in Landscapes鈥 in which she has photographed items in nature that resemble letters of the alphabet. Early childhood classes from Ada and Ardmore will participate in a virtual field trip to the Pogue Art Gallery on Thursday, October 8, so they can view her work.

鈥淚鈥檓 really excited to share my exhibit with them,鈥 said Blevins. 鈥淭his is a great opportunity for students at a young age to open their eyes to objects that they wouldn鈥檛 see otherwise and to encourage them to look for details.鈥

成人B站 is endeavoring to find new and unique ways to interact with the public while honoring Covid-19 safety protocols. These early childhood students will not travel to the 成人B站 campus; instead, Blevins will communicate with them via an online connection.

Blevins said her interest in letters started 40 years ago when she took a calligraphy class. She said she is excited to share her passion for creatively viewing the world and the physical beauty of letters with students.

鈥淚 created 鈥楲etters in Landscapes鈥 while traveling,鈥 Blevins said. 鈥淚 started looking for letters in my surroundings to spell state names. It was fun looking at nature differently when I was looking for letters and I began to see details that I wouldn鈥檛 have seen otherwise. I hope I can pass this interest along to them.鈥
