East Central University is hosting the Oklahoma Ambassadors Music (OAM) Camp, May 31-June 3, in preparation for the group’s European tour, June 5-20.
The OAM consists of talented high school and college band and choir students – 85 in honor band and 40 in honor choir - from all over Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Ambassadors go on tour every odd year in early June, performing in London; Paris; Crans-Montana, Switzerland; Innsbruck, Austria; Venice Italy; and Rothenburg, Germany. Prior to their tour, they will perform their first concert in ³ÉÈËBվ’s Ataloa Theatre inside the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center on Monday, June 3 at 2 p.m. Admission is free and open to all. There are several outstanding Oklahoma high school directors that work with the groups and conduct while on tour.
