Experience the unique charms of The Big Easy at East Central University鈥檚 鈥淣ew Orleans Night,鈥 featuring a Dixieland jazz combo, New Orleans-themed sweets and the screening of the Royal National Theatre鈥檚 production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the Bill S. Cole University Center, followed by the screening at 7 p.m. in the Raymond J. Estep Multimedia Center.

Performing in the six-piece Dixieland jazz band, prior to the screening, will be Doug Laramore (trumpet), Mark Hollingsworth (clarinet), Nathaniel Berman (saxophone), Rudy Lipinski (piano), Bronson Warren (bass) and Ben Finley (drums).

成人B站 SCREENS, in collaboration with Sigma Tau Delta and The Honors Student Association, is conducting the screening of the recorded-live production of A Streetcar Named Desire, performed in London. The screening, open to the public, is $5 for students and $10 for members of the community.

Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, The Fall) 鈥済ives a shatteringly powerful performance鈥 (The Independent) as Blanche DuBois, with Ben Foster (Lone Survivor, Kill Your Darlings) as Stanley and Vanessa Kirby (BBC鈥檚 Great Expectations, Three Sisters at the Young Vic) as Stella. This National Theatre production of Tennessee Williams鈥 timeless masterpiece was the fastest-selling production in the venue鈥檚 history.

As Blanche鈥檚 fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace 鈥 but her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley Kowalski. Visionary director Benedict Andrews returns to the Young Vic with this 鈥渂old new London revival鈥 following his Critics鈥 Circle Award-winning Three Sisters (The Hollywood Reporter).
