成人B站 SCREENS presents 鈥淎nna Karenina鈥 on Tuesday, March 23, at 7 p.m. in East Central University's Raymond J. Estep Multimedia Center of the Bill S. Cole University Center. This event is free and open to the public.

Overwhelmingly considered one of Leo Tolstoy鈥檚 masterpieces, 鈥淎nna Karenina鈥 explores issues of religion, family, society, and morality in 19th century Russian society, using the story of the aristocratic Anna鈥檚 tragic affair with the rich Count Vronksy. The Vakhtangov Theatre production is a 鈥渕ovement-based performance鈥 with no spoken dialogue. Director An啪elika Cholina believes 鈥渆very gesture holds as much meaning as a word.鈥 Cholina鈥檚 choreography works with Alfred Schnittke鈥檚 music to unveil the personalities and depths of the characters.

鈥淎nna Karenina鈥 is two hours long with a 15-minute intermission. During the intermission, 成人B站 SCREENS will hold a drawing for gourmet Russian chocolates.

Next, 成人B站 Screens brings the NT Live production of 鈥淎madeus鈥 on Thursday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. This event will be preceded from 4-6 p.m. by 鈥淥peration Mozart,鈥 an afternoon of performances of Mozart鈥檚 music by 成人B站 faculty and students, including the University Chorale. 鈥淥peration Mozart鈥 will also include a lecture by 成人B站鈥檚 Dr. Joshua Grasso, titled 鈥淎madeus: The Lines vs. The Letters.鈥 Operation Mozart will be free and open to the public.
