Three members of the string faculty from the University of Central Oklahoma, along with East Central University鈥檚 Starla Hibler, will perform a concert of Baroque chamber music on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ada Arts and Heritage Center, 14th and Rennie, in Ada.

Hibler will be joined by UCO faculty members Dr. Tess Remy-Schumacher, Dr. Ralph Morris and Theodora Morris.

The concert is free and open to the public.

They will play works featuring recorder, strings and harpsichord and will be playing on replicas of early instruments. The program will feature works by Albinoni, Castello, Telemann, J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, and Mozart.

Hibler is a professor of music at 成人B站 where she has taught since 1991. As an active member of the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, College Music Society and Oklahoma Federation of Music Clubs, she serves regularly as a clinician and adjudicator.

Hibler was recognized as the 2009 Teacher of the Year by the Oklahoma Federation of Music Clubs. In 2001, she was named 鈥淥utstanding Adan in the Arts鈥� by the Ada Arts Council. During the summers of 2005-2008, she served on the piano faculty of Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony鈥檚 Piano and String Camp in Eureka Springs, Ark., and in 2009 became the Artist-in-Residence there. Hibler also serves as organist/choirmaster for St. Luke鈥檚 Episcopal Church in Ada.

Remy-Schumacher has won first prizes in Germany鈥檚 Jugend musiziert, New York鈥檚 International Artist Competition (string division) and Rome鈥檚 Carlo-Zecchie Competition with pianist Dr. Michael Staudt. She has been a concert soloist for many years, performing in Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States, including Wigmore Hall in London, Jubilee Hall in Singapore, the Carnegie Recital Hall in New York and Bradley Hall in Chicago.

In The New York Concert Review, Edith Eisler wrote about her most recent Carnegie Recital Hall performance, 鈥淢s. Remy-Schumacher鈥檚 technique is disciplined鈥�Her bow control and mastery of the fingerboard are complete; her intonation is excellent.鈥� Remy-Schumacher has also performed at the Brisbane festival, Australian Festival of Chamber music and the Contempofest (Australia), Weatherfield Music Festival (U.S.) and Internationaler Klaviersommer (Germany).

Ralph Morris joined the UCO faculty in 1991. He is the Director of the Symphony Orchestra, teaches viola and chamber music and is a member of the UCO Faculty String Quartet. He is a former director of the UCO School of Music.

Ralph Morris is a former member of the Fort Worth Symphony. While living in Austria for eight years, he specialized in the performance of Baroque and Classical music, performing with the Capella Academica Wien and the Wiener Barock Solisten in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Morris also performed throughout Europe and Japan as a member of orchestra of the Wiener Volksoper, Theater an der Wien and Mozart Oper Salzburg. He has also conducted the UCO Chamber Orchestra in performances at the Merkin Hall in New York City, Eroica Hall in Vienna, Austria, Central University of Finance and Economics and central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China.

As a member of the UCO Faculty String Quartet, Ralph Morris has performed chamber music throughout Oklahoma, the Southwest, Thailand and Germany. He has been a featured soloist with the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra, Oklahoma City Community Orchestra, Jubilee Community Orchestra of Ashville, N.C., and the UCO Symphony, UCO Chamber Orchestra and Thai Symphony in Bangkok, Thailand.

Theodora Morris is an adjunct instructor of violin and recorder at UCO and Rose State College. She is also a member of the UCO Faculty String Quartet.

She taught strings and recorder in the Vienna public schools for 10 years and performed regularly with the Capella Academica Wien, Stadtmusik Wien, and orchestras of the Winer Volksoper and Theater an der Wien and Mozart Oper Salzburg. Since moving to the U.S., the Vienna, Austria native has been a member of the Sun City Symphony (Ariz.), Lawton Philharmonic, and Enid Symphony. Theodora Morris has also served as concertmaster of the Oklahoma City Community Orchestra.

As a member of the UCO Faculty String Quartet, she has performed chamber music throughout Oklahoma, the Southwest, Thailand and Germany. Theodora Morris has been a featured soloist with the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra, Oklahoma City Community Orchestra, Jubilee Community Orchestra in Ashville, N.C., UCO Symphony, UCO Chamber Orchestra and the Thai National Symphony in Bangkok, Thailand.
