ADA, Okla. 鈥 The 2025 edition of East Central University鈥檚 long-standing literary journal, 鈥淥riginals,鈥 and this year鈥檚 student editors, are set to be showcased on March 27 at 3:30 p.m. inside the Linscheid Library on the 成人B站 campus.

鈥淥riginals鈥 is an annual literary journal that has been a fixture of 成人B站 since the 1950鈥檚. The journal offers students from any department across campus an opportunity to submit their writings or artwork for potential publication.

Submissions in poetry, short stories, novel chapters, lyrics, artwork and more are considered and accepted. Thousands of students have been featured in Originals over the decades.

Each year, students are chosen to serve as editors for the journal. For the 2025 edition, Destrie Cloud, Saydee Bryce and Maia Clark, all English majors, were selected.

鈥淭he Originals Reading on March 27th will showcase the 2025 edition of Originals, which is the first time I've been the faculty advisor/editor of the journal,鈥 said Dr. Joshua Grasso. 鈥淭he content itself was entirely chosen by our three student editors. What makes this issue exciting for me is that there is a broad range of students involved in it, compromising a variety of classes and majors, as well as three professors outside of the English department.鈥

Information about submission to 鈥淥riginals鈥 will be available at the open-mic, along with copies of past editions for browsing. Previous volumes may also be accessed on the Linscheid Library website at

Flyers for the 20th Annual Scissortail Festival, set for April 3-5, 2025, will also be available with information about the upcoming event.
