An Instrumental Ensembles Concert with the East Central University Flute, Clarinet
and Brass Ensembles will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday [MARCH 24] in the Ataloa
Theatre in 成人B站鈥檚 Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and open
to the public.
The Flute Ensemble, under the direction of Juliana Overmier, will perform 鈥淲alk Like
This!鈥� by Ian Clarke and 鈥淎 Gaelic Offering鈥� by Catherine McMichael, featuring Rebekah
Unruh, Whitney Beck, Sarra Blok and Ashley Branscum. Joining the ensemble for Carlos
Antonio Jobim鈥檚 鈥淲ave鈥� will be Rudy Lupinski, piano; Justin Cody, bass; and Tommy
Long, guitar.
Michael Whitmore will direct the Clarinet Ensemble in 鈥淭he Spinning Wheel鈥� by Virgil
Davis and a suite from George Gershwin鈥檚 鈥淧orgy and Bess,鈥� including the well-known
鈥淪ummertime,鈥� 鈥淚 Got Plenty O鈥� Nothin鈥� and 鈥淚t Ain鈥檛 Necessarily So.鈥�
The Brass Ensemble, directed by Frank Zugelder, will perform 鈥淕illiard Battaglia鈥� by Samuel Scheidt; 鈥淎ve Maria鈥� by Franz Biebl, featuring a low brass choir and Derek Akers on horn; 鈥淐entone No. V鈥� by Samuel Scheidt; and 鈥淪ymphonic Fanfare鈥� by Norman Wilcox.
