ADA, Okla. 鈥 The President鈥檚 Leadership Class (PLC) at East Central University recently volunteered their time to assist Willard Grade Center in Ada.

The PLC group helped students build and launch Estes rockets 鈥 a tradition for sixth-graders for over thirty years.

鈥淲e have over 200 sixth graders this year, so it鈥檚 an overwhelming project to take on,鈥 said Tara Burns, principal at Willard Grade Center. 鈥淭he students loved working with the President鈥檚 Leadership Class. We greatly appreciate all the help the PLC students provided with the project and are thankful for the partnership we have with East Central University and the positive impact it has on our students.鈥

This project was supported by funding from the President鈥檚 Circle, a group of individuals and businesses who provided targeted support for the advancement of 成人B站 and the enhancement of educational experiences and opportunities for students, faculty and staff.

鈥淚 loved working the rocket launch! I am so proud of all the children's hard work and very honored to have been a part of their exciting day,鈥 said 成人B站 student Kylee Watson, a native of Tupelo.

The President鈥檚 Leadership Class is one of the premier freshmen scholarship programs made up of hand-selected students each year with only 25 student leaders selected for each class. Some of the opportunities PLC members have include interacting with leadership on campus, within the community and at the state-level, volunteering at local schools and other events and traveling to major U.S. cities to expand their knowledge on history and culture.
